Wandering has always been my escape from the demands of work and adult responsibilities
(adulting is OVERRATED)
The outdoors has always been rejuvenating to my soul, it supercharges my energy battery, and is soothing to my senses. As a little girl my family would take summer trips to Puerto Rico to visit our family, and I can remember sitting on my aunt’s porch listening to the Coquís, the wind swaying the palm trees side to side, and the roosters crowing. Those moments brought me stillness and I cherished them.
I’v always found so much peace in nature, sitting, enjoying the silence, reflecting, appreciating. I remember my first to Sedona, Arizona. I would say this was my first big girl trip. I remember going on our first trail, we got to our first viewpoint, and my husband and I just paused, looked out and my eyes starting watering. It was so beautiful…..camping and hiking became the norm for us after that trip. We realized how much we not only enjoyed but how refreshing it was for our minds, for our spirit, and our souls.
So come on in, agarra un café and stay a while!
“Keep close to Nature’s heart… and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.”
– John Muir
